The images at left show the process of carving Solar Eclipse.
In this stage, the ten inch diameter coring is enlarged by excavating out to the eighteen inch tangent circle. This begins with radial slicing and dicing of unwanted material which is then chipped away using a a pitching hand tool and pneumatic inline chisel.
