The images at left show the process of carving Solar Eclipse.
In this stage, the front face is carved as a portion of a spherical surface with an eight foot radius. Shown is an angle grinder with a diamond blade, hung using a pendulum jig. This jig permits the slicing and dicing of unwanted material into cubes of stone which are then chipped away using a pneumatic inline chisel.
